Making a great game requires much more than just development. Game design, art, programming and QA are equally important. And after the game is created, a right marketing, an instant support and quick reaction to players’ feedback are needed to make it successful. Our company process covers all the listed activities. We do game design, art, development, QA and support. And we can help you find a publisher who will publish the game and promote it.
All the activities are united in a single process which is highly effective and provides the highest possible level of collaboration between you and the team during development.
First, we start with a Kick-Off Meeting with you and our team. You tell us about your ideas, your vision and your goals. The team is asking questions to understand your key priorities and concerns.
Based on your ideas, we create a prioritized list of features to implement, called “backlog”. “Prioritized” means that the features of higher priority are higher in the list. We give you an access to our project management system, so you can see what features are on the list, what features are currently in development and what features are of higher priority, anytime. If your priorities change and you want a feature from the bottom of the list to be implemented soon – just drag & drop it to the top of the list in our project-management system – and we’ll develop it first.
We value working game over comprehensive documentation. We believe that playing is better than reading. And the best way to explore fun is not creating a large detailed GDD but making a quick prototype, playing it, analyzing the gameplay and instantly improving it.
That’s why we guarantee you a quick outcome. In about 2 weeks after start of development you’ll see a part of your game ready and even will be able to play it! This may be a prototype where you can build a building if we’re developing a strategy game. Or it can be a build where you can control your character if we’re developing a shooter.
You’re In Control
Once you start playing your game you notice what brings fun to it and what doesn’t. You may see that some of your assumptions could be wrong and remove some features from the list. Or you can add new features instead. Everything is possible. You have a full control over development by adding, removing and prioritizing the features in the backlog.
The game development is done iteratively in 1-2 week iterations, called “sprints”. At the start of every sprint the team is planning what features it can do within it. The features are always taken from the top of backlog, so the highest-priority ones are done first. Every sprint includes all the activities including game design, art, development and QA. In the end of the sprint we send you an updated build. Every build is tested and working. So, you can check what’s done and give us feedback.
After the gameplay is ready we build in statistics, ads, social integration – and publish the game on the stores. We have experience of publishing games on App Store, Google Play, Facebook and various websites. And after the game is published – it’s time to prepare some updates with new content in order to engage more players.
Once the game is published and enters production stage – it’s only the beginning. An instant support is needed to make it successful. We analyze feedback and statistics from players, make appropriate changes to the game, and release updates. Then analyze feedback and statistics from players again, and so on. It’s an iterative process that can take much time and effort. However the reward is success of your game!
Minimizing Your Risks
Do you believe developers when they tell you that your feature or game is 80% complete? The risks of traditional waterfall approach to development are that you believe developers or no. You cannot check their real progress because you see outcome only in the end of development.
You won’t have such problems with us. Our process provides clarity at all stages of development, and you will always be aware of the real project status. After all, you’ll see that working with us can be even easier than working with your in-house team.
